How to Connect Adbase to your AI tool

Connect Adbase to Claude, ChatGPT of Cursor.

With the Adbase connector, your AI tool can read your ads in Adbase and create Dimensions for you. You set it up once.

What you need

  • An Adbase account

  • The Adbase connector URL: https://app.adflow.io/api/v1/mcp

Below you'll find the steps for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor.

Claude

Works on all plans, in the browser and the desktop app. Free plans can add one custom connector.

Free, Pro or Max

  1. Go to Customize → Connectors.

  2. Click + Add, then Add custom connector.

  3. Name: Adbase. URL: https://app.adflow.io/api/v1/mcp. Click Continue.

  4. Keep the detected authentication settings and the recommended OAuth client. Click Continue, then Add.

  5. Click Connect and log in with your Adbase account.

Team or Enterprise

An owner adds the connector once for the organisation:

  1. Go to Organization settings → Connectors.

  2. Click Add, hover over Custom and select Web.

  3. Name: Adbase. URL: https://app.adflow.io/api/v1/mcp. Click Continue.

  4. Keep the detected authentication settings and the recommended OAuth client. Click Continue, then Add.

Then each team member goes to Customize → Connectors, finds Adbase (labelled "Custom") and clicks Connect.

In a chat

Click + at the bottom left, then Connectors, and check that Adbase is on.

ChatGPT

  1. Turn on developer mode if you haven't already: Settings → Security and login → Developer mode.

  2. Go to chatgpt.com/plugins.

  3. Click +, then Add custom MCP server.

  4. Name: Adbase. URL: https://app.adflow.io/api/v1/mcp. Authentication: OAuth.

  5. Create it and log in with your Adbase account.

Can't find developer mode or the option to add a server? Ask your ChatGPT admin.

In a chat

Type @ and select Adbase.

Cursor

  1. Open ~/.cursor/mcp.json (create it if it doesn't exist) and add:

  1. Save the file.

  2. Open Customize in the sidebar, find adbase and turn it on.

  3. Log in with your Adbase account when asked.

Check that it works

Start a new chat and ask:

Which brands can you see in Adbase?

You get a list of your brands? Then you're ready.

Good to know

  • Your AI tool sees what your Adbase account can see. Nothing more.

  • Don't switch brands in Adbase while your AI tool is working. It loses access.
