Learn how to create a design

We use a product feed and template to automatically create hundreds or thousands of branded product ads.

You design the basic template in a graphic program of your choice. Then in our Catalog Editor, you can add dynamic fields such as a product photo or price to the template.

Formatting Template

Ask your graphic designer to provide two templates. The first template should not include a product, and the second should include a product.

Use JPG or PNG files and a 1080x1080 pixel format.

Template with and without the product

💡 Tip: design the template with a product first. Once completely satisfied, export the file and create the template without a product.

You will import the template without a product into our Catalog Editor later. You can use the template with the product as a reference to correctly position the dynamic fields in Adflow.

Export individual design elements as PNG with a transparent background if you wish to position them in front of a dynamic field.

Dynamic Fields

You can only use dynamic fields if they are available in the supplied feed. In the example above, we are using four dynamic fields:

  • Product image

  • Number of items in stock

  • Price excl. discount

  • Price incl. discount

You should discuss beforehand which dynamic fields are available in your product feed and which your graphic designers can include in the template.

Adverts with different products

Make even better templates? Use psychological persuasion techniques

Some people need that extra push before purchasing a product on your webshop. You can give that extra push with branded dynamic ads by using one or more persuasion techniques. Below are some examples.

💡 Tip: don't use too many persuasion techniques in your design. Focus only on the things that are important to your webshop.

Scarcity

The appreciation for a product increases when it is exclusive or almost out of stock. You can use scarcity in three ways in your dynamic ads:

  • Time: "Only 35% discount this week!"

  • Numbers: "Only x left in stock!"

  • Offers: "Limited edition"

Social Proof

If your webshop has been voted the best or has a 5-star rating on Trustpilot, use this to convince potential customers by incorporating it into your design. Similarly, if you have helped thousands of customers, indicate this with a message such as "x others have gone before you."

People like to feel confident in their purchasing decisions. Consider indicating "bestsellers" or “sustainable choices” to help customers make informed decisions.

Authority

The principle of authority shows that we tend to follow people with much knowledge. You can use authority in dynamic ads by including a quality mark, such as the Webwinkel Keurmerk. If you sell products from well-known brands like Nike and Adidas, you can include their logos in your dynamic ads. Just make sure that these logos are available in your product feed.

Reciprocity

People are more likely to do something for you when they get something in return: "something for something." Does your webshop offer free shipping, free returns, or an extra-long cooling-off period? Use this in the design of your dynamic ads.
